The Season of The Little Prince began on July 6, 2021, and ended on September 19, 2021, lasting 76 days. It was the tenth Seasonal Event in the Live Version of Sky, being the first collaborative Seasonal Event. The Season of The Little Prince succeeded the Season of Assembly and precedes the Season of Flight. The season was set in the Vault of Knowledge.
Welcome[]
“ | The stars have aligned to welcome a royal visitor |
” |
This season was the first collaborative season released by thatgamecompany, collaborating with the titular story of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's The Little Prince (French: Le Petit Prince). This season featured six prominent characters from the story as spirits, as well as the Little Prince as the protagonist and The Rose as the Seasonal Guide. Befriend the royal visitor and discover lost connections.
Many changes have been introduced with this season:
- All the Seasonal Spirits can be relived in the Starlight Desert, similar to the Season of Dreams;
- An NPC (The Little Prince) was added, which acted like the player's friend;
- The Seasonal Guide (The Rose) was not a spirit, but instead an object and character from an original story, and;
- Three IAP Cosmetic Packs were introduced, The Fox Backpack, The Little Prince Scarf Cape, and The Little Prince Asteroid Jacket.
Starlight Desert[]
“ | Where dreamlike worlds collide |
” |
–Starlight Desert Opening |
The Season of The Little Prince took place in an entirely new area in the Vault of Knowledge known as Starlight Desert. The entrance to the area is through a hole in the wall adjacent to the ladder where one Winged Light sits in the beginning of Vault. Upon entering the Vault, fly up to the left-hand wall where the ladder stands. The doorway is protected by a Spirit Gate, requiring one (1) Spirit from Vault to enter.
All Seasonal Spirits and The Rose Guide can be found in Starlight Desert. The Seasonal Quests took place in Starlight Desert as well as in other locations in the Sky Kingdom.
Daily Quests and Seasonal Candles[]
Daily Quests[]
Collect Seasonal Candles throughout the Season to trade with the new spirits for their cosmetics.
The Rose Guide at Home will offer players four Daily Quests to complete every day. Players will earn one seasonal candle per quest completed. Each day the quest giver stands next to a realm's portal, indicating where the day's daily quests may be completed. The chosen realm will also contain four bunches of Seasonal Candles. If players gather the light from all four bunches, they will be able to forge one extra Seasonal Candle. Players who have the Adventure Pass can also claim a Seasonal Candle at Home as a free daily bonus.
Seasonal Candle Bunches Locations[]
This season, the candle bunches are found towards the beginning of each realm again.
- Daylight Prairie: 1 in the Social Space, and 3 in Butterfly Fields
- Hidden Forest: 1 in the Social Space, and 3 in Forest's Clearing
- Valley of Triumph: 1 in the Social Space, and 3 around the Ice Rink
- Golden Wasteland: 4 around the Broken Temple area
- Vault of Knowledge: 3 around the entrance, and 1 on the first floor up
Winged Light Locations[]
There are currently three Winged Light (WL) added to the Starlight Desert in Vault of Knowledge.
Spirit Memory Quests[]
The Memory Quests in this season were started by The Rose Guide, found in the center of the desert. These Quests followed the adventures of The Little Prince, with the player as an active participant.
Quest #1[]
In this first Quest, The Little Prince invites the player to a game of Hide and Seek in the Rose Garden. You can find him to the right of the Rose Garden, next to the Candle Cake. In the second game, you can find him on the opposite side, between the hedges. Then in the third game, he can be found near the gazebo-like structure. At the end of the game, The Prince wonders whether there are grown-ups here, before being carried away into the sky by a flock of birds. When the player returns to The Rose, they listen to her reflecting on her relationship with The Prince.
Quest #2[]
For this Quest, the player is sent to the Underground Caverns area of Hidden Forest. Here, the player gets to take The Prince on a tour of the area. The Little Prince ponders upon the creatures that inhabit it as you explore. After reaching the top of the Cavern, he explains that he still has friends to discover and many things to understand, before being carried off once again by birds. When the player returns to the Rose, she reflects further on her relationship with The Prince.
"He's off to seek new planets," she says, as one of her petals drops to the ground, "but will he find another Rose like me?"
Quest #3[]
In this Quest, the player visits the Sanctuary Islands in Daylight Prairie. Here again, the player takes The Little Prince on an adventure around the area. He marvels at the creatures and nature as The player and the little Prince explore the Island. Eventually, they will be prompted to take The Little Prince to the peak of the main Island, where The Prince will become more reflective about his adventures, his life and the bonds that tie individuals together.
When the player returns to The Rose, she loses another petal, as her reflections grow more melancholy. "Will he look back and remember me?" she wonders.
Quest #4[]
This Quest takes the player back to the garden area in Starlight Desert, where the Little Prince requests help from the Player: "These flowers are short of air!" he says as many of the plants are being strangled by corruption. After eliminating the corruption, the garden roses bloom. The Little Prince begins to become nostalgic as he observes all these roses and points to the stars thinking of the Rose that he left behind.
"Without my friend beside me, these sunsets felt less sweet" says the Rose as she yet loses another petal.
Quest #5[]
In this Quest, the player visits Hermit Valley in Valley of Triumph. The Little Prince can be found far out by the Icy peak of a mountain surrounded by clouds. There he hands over a ukulele that he found during a previous quest in the Underground Caverns of Hidden Forest (Quest #2). "I found this in the cave we visited" he says. "Mind trying this for me?". The player will then share music with The Little Prince. He shares some thoughts about his Rose before he is again carried off by the birds.
We get back to the Rose and can see that she is missing most of her petals. "He could not see my friendship, or the joy in my soul" and says, "will he ever know...? "
Quest #6[]
This Quest begins with The Little Prince heading toward the Eden mountain in the Starlight Desert. The player follows him, where it is clear that the Little Prince intends to go back to his planet. Around a campfire, the Little Prince offers a "present" to the player, in the form of his "laugh" and explain that he shall be living and laughing on one of the stars. Both the player and the Little Prince fall asleep next to the campfire. When the player wakes up, the Little Prince is gone. As the player moves towards the mountain we can see a Dark dragon patrolling in the distance and the Little Prince continuing his way to the mountain. This part of the story parallels the actual story of The Little Prince, where the Prince lets himself be bitten by a snake, assured that in appearing to die he will be transported home.
When we return to the Rose's planet, we can see that the Asteroid is in utter desolation. "My time is up, I ask for dear forgiveness" she says, "Yet, he has not returned. Will he ever come back for me? ".
Quest #7[]
For this last quest, the player must help the Little Prince who struggles under the hail of stones in Eye of Eden. Follow the Little Prince to Eden, and reunite with him at the end of Orbit. Once there, the player is invited to take the Little Prince's hand and go through the ultimate rebirth door. The player is reborn in the Starlight Desert (instead of Home), next to the Rose spirit. Once the player activate the last node from the Rose spirit, the video sequence shows the player climbing a hill and look up the stars. "Can you hear them?" we can read, referring to the millions of stars laughing in the sky (from the previous quest), "They will all be your friends".
Finale[]
At the end of the last quest, we are taken through the credits of the Season, where we can see all the Asteroids showcased in the new area "Dreams of Little Prince" accessible only with the In-App purchasable Asteroid cape.
Based on the "Le Petit Prince", written by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, featuring:

Trivia[]
- With the Season of The Little Prince going live, each of the six Realms have now been host to their entirely separate Seasonal Events, beginning with the Season of Enchantment in the Golden Wasteland.
- The Spirits in this Season are based on the King, the Geographer, the Conceited Man, the Tippler, the Businessman, and the Lamplighter from The Little Prince story.
- In Beta, the Star Collector was originally called the Shrewd Merchant. The reason for this change is due to the antisemitic implications of the 'Hand Rub' emote belonging to a mercantile Spirit; Interestingly, the icon showing the gesture itself and the matching Lvl. 3 and 4 animations were unchanged.
- During the Season, the constellation above the entrance to the Starlight Desert featured the outline of a "snake who ate an elephant" or a hat as a reference from the The Little Prince story, but was later changed to the outline of the Season's emblem (a fox) once the Season ended.
- The Rose is the first ever Seasonal Quest Giver to not be referred to as a "Guide".
- The Quest Givers for the first four Seasons were unnamed, so they do not count.
- In Dreams of A Little Friend, the asteroid B-612 is incorrectly named "B61-". This is most likely a copyright matter just like the Little Prince or the disappearance of the Rose from the Asteroids B-612.
- At the end of the Season, the Prince's clothes were changed to be more Spirit-like.
