Welcome[]
“ | Music echoes through the heart of the Sky experience. |
” |
This Season was the second collaborative Season released by thatgamecompany, collaborating with AURORA. Each Spirit brought a story written by AURORA, told through her voice in Seasonal Quests to weave the imagination of her best-known songs into the events that once unfolded in the Realms. Complete the Seasonal Quests to reveal the colors and elements waiting to be restored and awaken a Spirit of Light from the world's distant past.
Note that Season of AURORA can be enjoyed by all players who have progressed through at least Valley of Triumph.

The Sphere Quests[]
The Season of AURORA takes on a whole new Quest format. Players enter a large transparent sphere and as they progress through the Quest, a series of animations unfolds while listening to an AURORA soundtrack. For the duration of the song, a bright sparkling light shows the player the way. If players exit the memory sphere, the music volume decreases and they are prompted to return to the memory before it disappears. While in the sphere, the player's character will take a blue hue, to blend in with the animation.
Daily Quests & Seasonal Candles[]
Daily Quests[]
Collect Seasonal Candles throughout the Season to trade with the new Spirits for their cosmetics. A total of 6 Seasonal Candles are available to gather, as follows:
- Each day the AURORA Guide stands next to a Realm's portal, indicating where the day's four Daily Quests may be completed. Players will earn one Seasonal Candle per Quest completed. Complete your Quests and claim your reward at the Return Shrine at Home. (4 candles)
- Players may also collect an extra Seasonal Candle by collecting the 4 Seasonal Bunches (more information on the "Seasonal bunches locations" below). (1 candle)
- Players who have the Season Pass can claim a Seasonal Candle at Home as a free daily bonus. (1 candle)
Seasonal Candle Bunches Locations[]
The Seasonal Candle bunches were found towards the beginning of each Realm, one Realm a day.
Child of Light Locations[]
No winged light has been added to the Season of AURORA.
Spirit Memory Quests[]
For AURORA's Quests: If players move out of the memory sphere, the music volume decreases and they are invited to return to the memory before it fades away.
Quest #1[]
The first Quest takes place at the Isle of Dawn with the song "Runaway" by AURORA. A large memory sphere appears and inside, a 21-fragment memory unfolds; a Spirit helps a child disembark from a boat on the shore. The Spirit seems to be holding a large scroll or a map. We follow them progressing through Isle of Dawn as the sphere moves forward. At one point, the Spirit helps the child and the map up and over the ledge. The child runs alone towards a distant fleet of boats, waving as if they were left behind, but turns back to see the Spirit lying on the ground, lifeless. The next scene shows the child kneeling in front of a tombstone.
The Quest continues and the child makes their way alone towards the fleet of boats on top of the main ramp that leads up to the Temple. The child holds out their arm in the air in the butterfly pose, surrounded by Mantas and Birds flying towards the Temple, while AURORA sings "Runaway".
Return to Aurora to complete your quest. Once back at Aurora, the Coliseum receives a first upgrade in the form of ribbons of different color falling down from each section and new shops are added to the other side of the Coliseum.
Quest #2[]
The second Quest takes place at the Underground Cavern of Hidden Forest with the song "All is Soft Inside" by AURORA. A large memory sphere appears and inside, a 20-fragment memory unfolds; the Mindful Miner and busy workers mine and transport minerals in the cavern. On their way they discover a swarm of small Jellyfish. The Mindful Miner runs after them with a prospector hammer in hand, scaring them away. The Jellyfish then group together and form a way to help you (the player) up to the tunnel above. (Do not honk to call the Butterflies, use the Jellyfish!) Inside the tunnel, a boat awaits to leave with the crew and the minerals.
The Jellyfish now take the player within the memory sphere and lead them through the Underground Cavern. (Walk to the ledge with the light, let the Jellyfish transport you, and do not touch your screen until it's needed.) Workers mine for more minerals and take their boat up to the hollow Butterfly cave (the one that Hairtousle Teen's memory enters). Inside the cave, one worker gets crushed by falling rocks and the other two become imprisoned in the cavern. The Jellyfish come and free the workers and the Mindful Miner from their tragic fate. (Make your way to the top with the help of the Jellyfish.)
Once outside, the surviving workers are grateful and wave to the Jellyfish. The Jellyfish guide you to the other side of the cave, where the Mindful Miner protects a swarm of scared Jellyfish from two menacing workers. They move their collected minerals onto the boat. (Once again, let the Jellyfish show you the journey of the workers through the cave, until you reach the very top.) The final memory depicts the Mindful Miner befriending a Jellyfish, gently touching it, grateful for the help received.
Return to Aurora to complete your Quest. Once back at Aurora, the Coliseum receives a second upgrade in the form of a Stage featuring large trees with purple petal leaves at the top.
Quest #3[]
The third Quest takes place at the Citadel in Valley of Triumph with the song "Warrior" by AURORA. We follow the journey of racers as a 29-fragment memory unfolds. We observe the Warrior of Love helping the Backflipping Champion prepare for the contest by feeding their Manta and handing them a cape. The three racers: Backflipping Champion, Proud Victor, and Manta Whisperer, take their places at the starting line, seated on the backs of their giant Mantas. (Follow the light to start the race and let it transport you through the next scene.) The racers start circling around the Citadel on their mounts, each as fast as the other, passing through checkpoints. As they come to a tight turn, the Backflipping Champion falls from their Manta.
The next scene brings the player back to the starting point where they can see the Backflipping Champion injured in bed. The Warrior of Love prepares to take their place for another race, determined to win. The Warrior of Love takes the cape, gets the Manta ready, and before the race, the Backflipping Champion hands them a pair of goggles as a sign of approval. (Once again, follow the light to start the race and let it transport you through the next scene.) At the start, the Warrior of Love lags behind the other two racers. Halfway to the race, the Backflipping Champion waves to Warrior of Love to encourage them as the trio flies fast past. The race heats up; each racer wants the same thing: to win! With a photo finish, the Warrior of Love barely crosses the finish line first.
The final memory depicts the Warrior of Love ecstatically jumping in the air with both opponents kneeling on either side, showing their respect.
Return to the Coliseum to complete your Quest. Once back at Aurora, the Coliseum receive a third upgrade in the form of colorful hieroglyphs all around and eight flags featuring all 4 AURORA Spirits.
Quest #4[]
The fourth Quest takes place at the Battlefield in Golden Wasteland with the song "The Seed" by AURORA. A large memory sphere appears and inside, a 22-fragment memory unfolds; the Seed of Hope is running with a backpack. (Follow the light to start the story and let it transport you through the next scene.) We follow the journey of the Seed of Hope as they travel across the dangerous land of the Battlefield to help their injured teammates. While dodging the barrage of spears, the strong Seed of Hope carries their friend in their arms and narrowly enters the broken fortress. In a temporary medical tent, the injured soldier receives treatment while another armed guard remains on the lookout.
Another Spirit is injured, crying for help, and our brave Seed of Hope volunteers to retrieve them as well. But halfway back to the medical tent, the Seed of Hope get attacked and a spear pierces their body, knocking both of them to the ground. In the next scene, the player will have to crawl past the wounded Seed of Hope as they attempt to find shelter. Back on the battlefield, two sword-wielding soldiers come to the rescue, fighting off the swarming Dark Dragons. The sword-wielding soldiers find the injured Seed of Hope.
A large Dark Dragon spots the group. They run for their lives; one launches swords at the Dark Dragon while the other carries the Seed of Hope. They hide behind rocks and continue until they finally reach the medical tent safely. The last scene shows the Seed of Hope at the shelter huddled together with their friends.
Return to the Coliseum to complete your Quest. Once back at Aurora, the Coliseum receive a fourth upgrade in the form of a giant sun lighting in the center of the stage; lanterns are lit and the Spirits work together to protect AURORA in a colorful sphere.
