The Saluting Protector is a Seasonal Spirit from the Season of Gratitude who offers the 
Acknowledge Expression. The Saluting Protector is found in Golden Wasteland's First Krill Area, on the left under the collapsed bell structure. The collectibles offered by this Spirit are a 
Mask, a 
Cape, and the 
Music Sheet 8.

Memory[]
The Saluting Protector can be found in Golden Wasteland’s Graveyard Entrance, aka First Krill Area, under the collapsed bell structure to the player’s left if they enter from the Broken Temple. This Spirit has a carry spirit memory with 6 memory fragments and an unlimited overall time limit.
This memory can be difficult to relive due to the Dark Dragon patrolling the small area in a circle. Patience is key to successfully reliving this Spirit memory, and it is encouraged to use the unlimited time limit to the player's advantage. Bringing a few friends along would be a good idea, as they can help recharge the player's Cape and can collect their lost Winged Light if they do get hit by the Dark Dragon.
Alternatively, there is a minor bug that can be used to make reliving this Spirit's memory significantly easier, especially for solo players. When re-entering the Spirit's area from any entrance into the Crab Fields, the Dark Dragon defending the First Krill Area will often fail to spawn in, removing the primary threat of the area and greatly speeding up the process of reliving the Spirit's memory.
As their memory unfolds, the Saluting Protector can be seen dancing on top of the ruined bell structures to the left, right, and middle sides of the central structure. They continue up the ruins, and continues to dance until they reach a smaller area at the top of the ruins, to the player's left. Finally, they pose at the center of the area at the top of a gently sloped ramp, their feet close together and their hands posed in front of their stomach.
At the end of the memory, the Saluting Protector commends the player for making the long trek across the ruins. They raise their left hand to their forehead and quickly move their hand forwards in a dismissive, but respectful, saluting gesture.

Expression[]
This Spirit offers the Acknowledge Expression (also known as Dismiss), which has 4 Levels.
- Level 1 will make your avatar bring their left hand up against their forehead briefly before sharply bringing it forward, while a drumroll and xylophone riff play.
- Level 2 makes the same motion as Level 1, with a burst of small sparkles radiating from your avatar's left hand.
- Level 3 will make your avatar stomp their left foot before repeating the same motion as seen in Level 1, while a similar drumroll and xylophone riff plays, with the rhythm being repeated a second time.
- Level 4 makes the same motion as Level 3, with a burst of small sparkles radiating from your avatar's left hand.
As a Traveling Spirit, the prices of the three Expression upgrades were the standard 4 
, 3 , and 6 . During the Season, Levels 2 and 4 were free, but were only available to Season Pass holders.

The Mask offered by this Spirit is a long, orange-colored head of a creature with a horn at the top, a pointy snout, golden teeth, and yellow details, costing 42 
from the Traveling Spirit. It was a Season Pass exclusive item during the Season, available after unlocking the Friendship Tree's fourth node (54 
total).
Cape[]
The Cape offered by this Spirit is made of white fur and in a similar shape to that of a maple leaf, with a fluffy piece around the neck, a beige[1] interior, and an orange band with yellow triangles on each shoulder, costing 75 from the Traveling Spirit. It was available to all players during the Season from the Friendship Tree's fourth node (54 total).

The Saluting Protector offers the 
Music Sheet #8, costing 15 from the Traveling Spirit. It was available to all players during the Season from the Friendship Tree's second node (16 total). It is in the key of E♭ Major.
Traveling Spirit[]
This was the Spirit's Friendship Tree the last time they returned as a Traveling Spirit. These collectibles will not be available for purchase again until the next time this Spirit returns.
