The Return Shrine Statue

Archway Cafe Counter

Daily Quests are a set of four tasks that players can accept each day and, upon completing, are rewarded with currency such as Candle or Season Candles.

Before starting a Quest the player most accept it by interacting with the Return Shrine Statue in Home, or by visiting the Ancestors waiting at the Aviary Village Archway Cafe Counter.

Once a Quest has been completed, returning to interact with the Return Shrine Statue or the archway counter Ancestors again will reward players with one Candle or Season Candle per completed Quest.

Overview

Daily Quests and their associate Spirits are being tracked on the Quests/Daily Quest Spirits page.

Pressing the upper-left corner of the screen (iOS and Android), the left arrow on the D-Pad (PlayStation and Switch), or the Shift key (PC) will toggle a menu showing the Daily Quests.

The daily list of Quests will always fall under five different categories:

• Friend Actions/Interactions.
• Gameplay Actions.
• Visit a Meditation Shrine.
• Find the Light.
• Relive a Spirit's memories.

Each day the location of the Daily Quests change, cycling through almost every Realm in turn, typically following directly after the day's chosen Daily Treasure Candle Realm. Neither Isle of Dawn nor the Eye of Eden will have Quests. During Seasonal Events, Quests are nearly identical to those given off-Season, though they will reward the player with Season Candles instead.

Some Quests can only be done in a specific area within the Realm in question. These include Meditation Quests, or Quests such as to rescue a Manta from Darkness. For these types of Quests, players can use a Map Shrine, where their locations within the Realms will be marked with yellow icons. Most of the time, all Quests for the day can be completed within the daily Realm, but there is no requirement that this should be the case.

General Quests

These Quests can appear in the Daily Quests for any Realm, and can be completed anywhere, even at Home and in the Eye of Eden.

High-Five a Friend	Can be completed by high-fiving a Guide, Spirit, or a friend. Both the default High-Five and Double-Five are acceptable.		Video Guide

Hug a Friend	Can be completed by hugging a Guide, Grandma, a Spirit admiring a Sapling, or a friend.

Other Friendly Interactions
Make a new acquaintance	Touch Candles with another player that you have not met before.		Video Guide
Sit at a bench with a stranger	Chairs, bonfires, and other Props will not complete this Quest.		Video Guide
Open a 2-player door			Video Guide
Recharge someone's light	The co-partner's light needs to be empty. Alternatively, you can stand at the Constellation Table at Home and wait until someone enters Home. This will automatically complete the Quest.		Video Guide
Send a gift to a friend	Spend 3 Candles to send a Heart to a friend. Both ways, either by your Constellation or direct sending, are acceptable.		Video Guide
Candles and Darkness
Forge a candle	Any type of Candles are acceptable.		Video Guide
Light 20 candles	Any type of Candles count toward the progression.		Video Guide
Melt 10 Darkness	Can be completed by burning Darkness from Shard Eruptions. Reliving Spirit's memory counts toward the progression.		Video Guide
Collect 30 pieces of light	Light from either Candles or Darkness are acceptable.		Video Guide
Miscellaneous Interactions
Pick up a Crab	Using a Deep Call flips over Crabs, which can then be picked up by tapping on the hand icon. Both hostile and passive Crabs count toward the progression.		Video Guide
Knock over 5 Dark Creature Crabs	Long press to use a Deep Call to flip over 5 Crabs. Both hostile and passive Crabs count toward the progression.		Video Guide
Face the Dark Dragon	Stand inside a Dark Dragon's field of vision and let it spot you.		Video Guide
Recharge your light from a jellyfish	Any Jellyfish including the Royal Jellyfish, count toward the progression.		Video Guide
Ride with a Manta	It can be completed by riding on the back of most Manta in each Realms, as long as they are able to ride on their backs, with a few exceptions.

Trivia

• After completing all available quests the Archway Cafe Counter will close for the remaining day, turning off the lights and lifting up the bar stools on the counter.
• In Patch 0.15.0 that arrived September 2021, access to Daily Quests was moved from the Quest Giver to the Return Shrine Statue at Home. In the much later Patch 0.23.5 from December 2023, Daily Quests were briefly changed to be exclusively accessed from the Return Shrine Statue at Aviary Village, before Patch 0.23.6 returned them back to Home a few days later.
• When Patch 0.15.0 changed access to Daily Quests, a particular spirit similar to Sleepy Traveler who had been teaching the Daily Quests at the home during the Off-Season (the Daily Quest Giver), left the home. Since patch 0.26.5 the Spirit at the counter in Aviary Village is considered to be this Quest Giver.
• The Quest to meditate at the Forest Brook Shrine was previously called "Meditate at Forest's hollow tree."
• The Quest to meditate on the First Floor of Vault was previously called "Meditate with the Spirit Mantas."
• For the Season of Enchantment, the "catch the light" Quests were replaced by the colored light Quests that are originally given by the Quest Giver in Forgotten Ark. After the Season ended, not only did the old light Quests return, but the colored light Quests stayed.
• In Patch 0.27.0 that arrived October 2024, "Ride a Manta in Daylight Prairie" was changed to "Ride with a Manta".
