Player Creations refer to any player-made content in-game such as Message Candles, Message Boats, Shared Memories, or Shared Spaces. Each Player Creation requires at least one 'like' from friends before the creation becomes visible to other players. Players who view a Player Creation can send the creator a Heart Heart for three candles Candle once they've liked the creation. You don't have to be friends with a player to send them a heart, and you can send them a heart through the creation in addition to gifting them a regular heart every day.

Message Candles[]

Message Shrines (also known as Message Candle Spots) are fixed locations where players can leave a message for others to see. At first it will only be visible to friends, and if the note gets one like it will become public.

There are two types of Message Shrines; Gratitude Shrines and Quest Shrines. Gratitude Shrines are always available, and their message candles are removed after 48 hours. However, each Quest Shrine is only available when activated by a Daily Quest, and their Message Candles are removed after 24 hours[1].

Shared Memories[]

Shared Memories are a type of spell that will allow players to show a glimpse of their past for others to see. Activating the spell records an avatar’s movement for a brief period of time. Then, once the recording is finished, a special crystal appears in the world representing this memory. Friends and other players who find it can tap on it to replay this visual message. Shared Memories were added as a part of Season of Performance in the 0.17.0 update. After the 0.20.5 update (February 23, 2023), the appearance of Shared Memory "candles" was updated to more closely resemble crystals to better match lore within Sky. The total number of visible Shared Memory spells placed by others in an area has also been reduced.

Like Message Candles and Message Boats, Shared Memory candles remain in an area for 6 days[2]. Other players who view them can tap the heart icon when viewing a Shared Memory to “like” it, once liked, players can send the creator a heart for three candles Candle every day, even if they aren't friends.

Shared Memory candles remain in an area for 6 days.

A recording can be as simple as waving hello to leave a greeting for a friend who’s offline, or be an excerpt of a favorite tune played to encourage fellow travelers—or perhaps something else entirely different that you dream up. We hope that Shared Memories will be a way to capture new moments of delight and imagination!

Shared Memory candles can be acquired through the Performance Guide or the Spell Shop in the Forgotten Ark area of Golden Wasteland and the Sleepy Traveling boat.

Shared memories need to be placed on dry land and players should take care to not stand too close to things like Candle locations, meditation circles, or Spirits.

Shared Spaces[]

Shared Spaces were introduced to the world of Sky on May 31, 2021 as a new way to play together with others and express yourself using Props, available to players who have progressed to Daylight Prairie. This feature allows players to decorate a small area, either with the Shared Space Shrines found in set locations or with Shared Space Spells that can be placed almost anywhere within the Realms. Once a player has finished decorating and publishes it, a special lantern appears in the world representing the Shared Space. Friends and other players who find it can then view the created Shared Space and interact with the items it contains.

Shared Spaces are a type of Player Creation that offer the ability to decorate an area with Props in order to craft a customizable, cozy space for you and your friends. While decorating, players have access to all the Props they have purchased and a handful of bonus Featured Props that vary depending on location. In addition to being able to place different Props, Shared Spaces allow multiple copies of a Prop to be placed.

Multiple Shared Spaces can exist at one time, although only one can placed per area. For example, if you already have an existing Shared Space in Butterfly Fields, publishing another there will result in it replacing the previous one. A Shared Space Spell can exist in the same area as a Shared Space Shrine, however.

There is a limit to the number of Props that can be placed in a Shared Space, which depends on the total "volume" of the items used. Placeable items are sorted in the menu by how much “volume” they use in a Shared Space, listed from left to right. The circular bar surrounding the Shared-space-hammer-Credit-Ray hammer icon at the top of the screen indicates how full a Shared Space is before no further items can be placed. Props cannot be placed outside the borders of a Shared Space, indicated by glowing blue walls.

The items available for use in Shared Spaces are independent of each other. This means that you can place a Prop in one Shared Space and still have the ability to use that same Prop in another Shared Space without removing it from the first. Props obtained through Spells, such as the Big Manta Plush, cannot be placed in a Shared Space.

A Shared Space must receive one Thumbs-Up-Like "like" from a player's friends before it becomes public to all players. After giving another player's Shared Space a "like," you can gift the creator a Heart once per day by spending 3 Candle, even if you aren't friends.

Shared Space Spells[]

Introduced on February 23, 2023 with the 0.20.5 Update, Shared Space Spells are a type of Spell that allow players to create a Shared Space almost anywhere within the Realms. Unlike Shared Space Shrines, these Shared Spaces last for 96 hours (4 days) before expiring. When placed down, they look like a transparent version of the memory lanterns found throughout the Vault of Knowledge.

Similar to other types of Player Creations, after giving another player's Shared Space a "like," the creator can be gifted a Heart for 3 Candle once per day, even if you aren't friends. This can be given in addition to regular Heart gifts. Note that you can only send an individual player a maximum of one Heart through one of their Player Creations each day, regardless of how many they have placed in the Realms.

Shared Space Spells can be placed almost everywhere in Sky, other than:

Players can buy Shared Space Spells for 4 Candle from the Sleepy Traveling's Boat at Home, the Forgotten Ark Spell Shop, or the Aviary Village Spell Shop. Free Shared Space Spells can be obtained as rewards for completing Seasonal Quests from the Season of Remembrance and Nesting Challenges. During the Season of Remembrance, a free Shared Space Spell was added to the Assembly Guide's Friendship Tree as well.

Trivia[]

As of Patch 0.25.0, players can no longer 'passively' receive a heart Heart from earning 'likes'. Previously, players could earn one heart after receiving enough likes on a Player Creation. Each type of creation could only earn one heart per cooldown. For example, a Player could only earn one heart from any Shared Space in 4 days.
