Ring the bell towers and reveal your path
–Daylight Prairie opening
Daylight Prairie is split up into four sub-levels connected to each other. The names for the areas were given in an update in the summer of 2018, and are only occasionally used now.
Locations of all available Children of Light can be found on the Winged Light page.
This is the area that you land in after the transition from Isle of Dawn, and it's the place you spawn in if you go through the Prairie Portal from Home Space. This space resembles the Prairie Hub that appeared in the earliest versions of the beta. It contains 2-player chat benches, Candles, and a Closet space where players can change their attire or instrument.
This space also contains the Spirits found in the current Realm (in an older version, it contained Spirits players found in the previous Realm). Blue or gold flames in front of stone shrines indicates a Spirit you have found. Standing near enough to a Stone will cause the Spirit to come down from the sky. Players can then tap on the Constellation icon above the Spirit's head to access their Friendship Tree (Spirit Shop]. In the Friendship Tree, you can purchase Blessings, Cosmetics and Upgrades for the Expressions.
Social Spaces like this have been added to every Realm, except for Isle. They are a very nice landing place to sit and rest or chat, or a gathering place before the adventure. From the Social Space, you take off into the clouds and get a bit more flying practice before entering the real part of Prairie.
In the Butterfly Fields area of Prairie players again find small Light Creatures (Butterflies) that can help you reach otherwise difficult to access places. When you tap and hold on yourself to perform a Deep Call, Light Creatures will lift your character high up in the air. Players can then glide to their destination with minimal Cape Energy used. The area is filled with flowers, grass and light. Furthermore, it contains gateways into three of Prairie's main areas: Villages, Bird Nest and the Caves.
In this area, there is one Ancestor Spirit and three Children of Light to find.
Find this Spirit just inside the big round rock to the left of the field.

For a new player, this is the next area of Prairie that is accessible. In Villages, the objective is to activate the bell towers and summon Light Creatures. Here you find the first burnable Darkness Plants which will reappear later in the game. The Darkness Plants, like Red Candles, release Wax for you to collect – filling the Candle-meter in the top-left corner of your screen.
Here players may also encounter their first multiplayer door, where they will need a friend to help unlock certain areas, as well as the only eight-player-area of the game. The eight-player puzzle is described in detail below.
The Villages area of Prairie houses four Ancestor Spirits and three Children of Light (Winged Light).
(Behind 2-person door): Fly to the left island. There is a cave with a door in the bottom right of the hill. You will need to call another player over to help open the door. Light each others candles, then hold a light to the door each and it will open and reveal the Spirit. If there are no other players around, leave the area through one of the gates and return to see if some have turned up.

This Spirit is by the ramp on the middle island. Note the two levels of ascension (two wing buffs), and five (rather than the usual three) upgrades.

The Nest area of Prairie is blocked by a Spirit Gate coming from both Butterfly Fields and Villages. The gate requires four Spirit Expressions to be collected from Prairie before you can burn through the barrier. As the name implies, the area is filled with Birds and other flying Light Creatures which circulate the broken structures on the floating islands. In the clouds, players will find a visible opening, leading into the newest area – the Sanctuary Islands, introduced in the Season of Sanctuary. Furthermore, high above players will also see a group of three very large Mantas carrying the Green Light sometimes featuring as a Daily Quest.
There is one Expression (a voice/call) available in Bird Nest, as well as two Children of Light (Winged Light).
The Spirit is sitting at the foot of the right-hand ruined tower.

An escape from daily civilization
–Sanctuary Islands opening
A new area in Daylight Prairie called Sanctuary Islands was introduced with the Season of Sanctuary. This is where the Season's activities were centered and where all six Seasonal Spirits were found. They are no longer obtainable but can return as Traveling Spirits. To reach Sanctuary Islands, head to the Bird Nest (behind the Spirit Gate on the right in Butterfly Fields). Just beyond, there is an opening in the clouds to explore.
The area evokes a summery island paradise – inhabited by Jellyfish, Crabs and Mantas. Fresh features include waterfalls, sandy shores, beach chairs, sea caves, and floating islands that hang from the surrounding skies. A previously unseen feature are the large geysers which litter the ground, allowing players to rocket high up while also recharging.
On the far side of the main island, players will see a mysterious stone monument which houses six broken bells. Standing nearby is the Sanctuary Guide Spirit who longingly watches over the ruined structure. Also scattered in all over this new area are eight Children of Light which may be collected.
This area contains the "Polluted Geyser" which, every two hours starting at 12:05 PST, for nine minutes at a time(12:05 until 12:14, for instance), ejects globs of darkness which can be popped for dozens of pieces of white wax each.
The Caves are also blocked by a Constellation Gate, and this Gate requires Spirit Expressions from both Isle and Prairie before the player can pass through. Two from Isle, and three from Prairie. Players who enter will find a peaceful water-filled Cave containing several hidden ledges and tunnels.
Within the Caves, there is another Constellation Gate blocking the entrance to a tunnel where a Spirit Expression (the Exhausted Dock Worker) can be found. This gate requires one Spirit Expression found in a later Realm, in this case, Hidden Forest. Therefore, unless players bring a friend who already has Expressions from Hidden Forest with them, they will not be able to enter this inner area at first. Instead, they will need to return once they have collected Expressions from Hidden Forest.
In total, there is one Ancestor Spirit and two Children of Light (Winged Light) available in the Caves area.
(Blocked by Constellation Gate requiring Ancestor Spirits from a later level). Enter the caves through the left-hand entrance from butterfly fields. Cross the divided lake in the main cave and go into the crevice on the other side. There is an entrance to a tunnel to the left. To enter, you must have collected one expression in Hidden Forest. It will take you to a smaller cave with a lake. The Spirit is sitting to the right of the lake.

Eight Player Puzzle
The only puzzle requiring eight players is located in the Villages area of Prairie. One Expression is available by completing this puzzle. The Puzzle is accessible beyond the Butterfly doors where the Laughing Light Catcher was found. The door itself requires two people with the Butterfly Catcher Expression to open. Furthermore, a Spirit Gate needing six collected Spirits from Prairie is found just behind this door.
Inside the elevator beyond the Spirit Gate, eight players need to hold their light to the golden disks. When they are all simultaneously activated, the platform will rise up to a special area above. Doing this will also allow player to meet the Ceremonial Worshipper, and thus collect the Raised Candle Expression.
In addition to the Expression, there is one Child of Light to be found here and a special treat for players who just aquired the Raised Candle Expression.
The raised candle Expression is available to all eight players in the area once the platform has reached the area with eight sets of a candles, and a cut-scene is played.

Outside on the roof of the Temple, there are two more Children of Light.
When inside the temple, in addition to the easily visible Red Candles scattered about the room, there is a hidden cluster of them directly behind the platform where players Meditate and see the Elder cut-scene. Drop down to the lowest point of the area to the right or left of the platform – among the large jars. Proceed forwards, and round the corner heading towards the space behind the Meditation spot. If players lose their way, it's helpful to do this using a Glow or Fireworks spell to light the way.
After watching the cutscene, the surrounding Jars release a group of Butterflies. When the player uses a Deep Call these Butterflies will lift them up into the air – heading forwards into the next Realm (Hidden Forest).
World Events, Mini-games and Easter eggs
The Fairy (Faerie) Ring
The Fairy (Faerie) Ring is a ring of mushrooms that appear in the far-right Island on Village of the Daylight Prairie. It is a leftover from quests that was to be completed in the Pre-global launch. Visiting the fairy ring would complete the quest. There is no longer a clock to indicate the time, nor Candles to indicate the location, but it is still visible at 10 minutes to the hour, for ten minutes, every hour, on the hill above the 8-player puzzle room. A clock located on the second dock of the middle island is still visible for the event but has no purposes.
The Invisible Boat
The Invisible Boat is a leftover resource from the pre-launch version of the game. To find it players will need either a Chat object or knowledge of the Chibi fall technique. Head to the cave inside the 2-player door on the leftmost island in Villages which houses a Child of Light and the Applauding Bellmaker Spirit. By using a Chat Object to glitch through the wall/ceiling, players will find themselves at the Boat. To set the boat in motion, light the two invisible buttons near the front. The Candles on the benches do not affect motion. Once active, the boat will gradually start to circle in the clouds of Villages. It is recommended that you sit because you will get linked to (read: kidnapped) by the flying mantas above eventually.
There is also a special treat when seven players, at a shrine on top of the right-hand hill, use the Butterfly Catcher Expression in tandem. The special treat is not an Expression nor a Collectible, but instead a fun and iconic Sky experience. Previously, this required eight players and a hefty load of patience. However, not only has this since been changed to seven players, the time players need to hold their position before the puzzle is completed has also been shortened significantly. Though, players are still advised to gather a group beforehand for easy access.
During Season of Sanctuary, a large carillon/piano-like instrument has been added as part of the last quest. Once the last quest is completed, the stone monument starts to work like a carillon instrument, with six bells/notes that players can individually ring. There are 6 stones corresponding each to one bell on the Monument. Go with 5 of your friend to make a symphony of carillons.
As of July 2021, all Seasonal Spirits are available to collect in the Kingdom of Sky. You will be able to collect the base level expression, but in order to collect the cosmetics or expression upgrades, you will have to wait for the Spirit to return as a Traveling Spirit.
