There are several Creatures that appear throughout the world of Sky, both helpful and harmful. Depending on where they are located, creatures can aid the player in reaching distant areas and places that are complicated to reach alone. Most creatures can be separated into four categories: Light, Dark, Neutral, and Miscellaneous.
Light Creatures[]
Light Creatures are harmless to Sky Kids, are a part of the scenery or cutscenes, can restore a Sky Kid's Light, or can help in memories and quests.
Light Creatures have many forms and shapes, ranging from a small butterfly to a huge whale. They can fly, glide, swim, or walk.
Sky Children[]

Sky Children (also referred to as Descendants, Sky Kids, Avatars, Children of the Light[1] and, for new players, Moths or Sparrows[2]) are the titular playable characters in Sky: Children of the Light, and the first living being that can be seen in the game.
Butterflies[]

Butterflies are light creatures for their ability to restore a Sky Kid's light. They are first encountered by the player in the Isle of Dawn, after discovering the first Child of Light. They are also sometimes released by burning Darkness Plants or seals on pots.
Birds[]

Birds are introduced in the Isle of Dawn. They are encountered in almost every realm, and they seem to emerge from various points in the clouds when traveling in flocks, signifying their relation to Light.
Mantas[]

Based on manta rays, Mantas in Sky have been introduced as of creatures of the air but later introduced as water creatures in the Treasure Reef of Season of Abyss. In the Valley of Triumph, players are able to unlock the Manta Call from the Citadel area, which does not induce any interaction with the creature but simply mimics its call.
Jellyfish[]

Jellyfish in Sky are translucent creatures with many tentacules-legs that can replenish your cape energy. A Call that mimics the Jellyfish can be learned from the Jelly Whisperer spirit, introduced in the Season of Sanctuary.
Manatee[]

This yellow and white creature is a blend of manatee, porpoise, and seal. It first appeared during Days of Nature 2023 and is now a permanent resident in Prairie Peaks where a herd of these peaceful manatees can be found sunbathing at the flowing river.
Lighthorns[]

Lighthorns[3] are Light Creatures that were introduced with the Season of Migration. They can only be found during the Season's Quests so far. Their white-and-yellow bodies are similiar to a Manatee's, but with a more narrow snout and most notably, their antlers and "ears".
Whales[]

The Whale is a large, fish-like creature, which resembles an arowana. It is unclear whether the Whale is a fish or a mammal in the world of Sky. However, it only replicates Earth's Whales in size and not in appearance.
Blue Eel[]

In Treasure Reef, an eel-like creature can be seen in the water emitting blue lights for players to collect. The creature will start its route in shallow water, then follow down the depth of abyss before finishing its path through the passage going to the large bubble tanks. The eel is sometimes found in the underwater part of Treasure Reef in Golden Wasteland.
Clams[]

Clams are not really creatures in the world of Sky, but they do hold pieces of light and will recharge a player's light once collected. We categorized them in the creature page since they are living creatures in real life.
Turtle[]

The Sanctuary hold house to a permanent resident in the form of a large turtle. During Days of Nature 2022, a large trench was added to the depth of the Sanctuary Island and when the Isle is soaked in a gorgeous orange sunset, players are able to help a creature and receive Lights as a benefit. The turtle start from the bottom of the trench and make its way to the top. Once out of the water, players can burn the large dark plant that grows on the turtle's back.
Fish[]

There are tons of fish in Sky and most of them are for recharging players or providing lights while others are just part of the scenery. Most of them represent real-life fish; in particular, Angelfish, Sunfish, Knife fish, and Swordtails.
Nine-Colored Deer[]

The Nine-Colored Deer is a benevolent guardian that lives within the Crescent Oasis and uses its magic to protect all inhabitants from harm. As part of the Season of the Nine-Colored Deer collaboration, its appearance is directly inspired by the animated film of the same name. This creature can only be seen during the Season's Quests or by using the special ability of a certain Cape.
Cinnamoroll[]

Cinnamoroll is a beloved Sanrio character introduced during the Sky × Cinnamoroll Pop-Up Cafe collaboration event. During the event, he could be seen flying outside of the Aviary Village Cafe leading players inside the themed cafe. During the course of the event, Daily Quests were themed around Cinnamoroll with various activities such as smelling flowers, splashing in the water and more. After the event ended, this creature can only be seen by players using the special ability of the Cinnamoroll Pop-Up Cafe Plushie.
Dark Creatures[]
Dark Creatures are entities that consumes anything of Light. Running into Dark Creatures will cause you to lose wing energy or stars.
Sky is not a violent game and Dark Creatures are only symbols of fear and doubt for players. When a player is hit repeatedly, it is possible to lose Winged Light and thus Cape Wedges. Although you cannot die in Sky, losing wings will remove your ability to fly, making it harder to reach certain areas and forcing you to retrieve lost Children of Light in all the Realms.
Dark Creatures also have many forms and shapes, ranging from small crabs to a giant abysmal Monster, but they all share their dark color palettes. They can fly, glide, roam, or swim and are found in all the Realms.
Dark Crabs[]

Dark Crabs are first discovered by the player in the Sanctuary Islands in Daylight Prairie, though they are most prominently found in Golden Wasteland. They are also found in Hidden Forest. They are commonly abundant in areas of water.
Dark Dragons/Krill[]

Dark Dragons, also known as “Krill” by the community, are first encountered by the player in Golden Wasteland's First Krill Area. They are large, black, floating Dark Creatures with several pairs of legs and one glowing blue eye which searches the terrain with its searchlight.
Dark Shadows[]

Dark Shadows, fan-nicknamed Dark Worms and Squirmals, and called Owls by beta testers, are found in the Trial of Fire in the Cave of Prophecies. They also played a major role in the event story during Days of Mischief 2024, roaming around the area and during Season of Moomin in the 4th Storybook quest.
Abyss Monster[]

The Abyss Monster or Many-Eyed Monster (named "Monster" in beta updates), fan-nicknamed "Rosie," Leviathan, and Megalodon by beta testers and "King Krill" by live players is found exclusively in the depths of Treasure Reef. It appears as a larger and more intimidating type of krill creature, with its many red glowing eyes and a pair of horn.
Dark Worm[]

The Dark Worm is a hostile serpent-like creature first found in the polluted river of Prairie Peaks during Days of Nature 2024. It has a dark, spikey body similar to that of Dark Dragons, with brightly glowing mandibles and a pair of antennae with glowing tips. The Dark Worm later returned alongside its smaller variant in the Sanctuary Islands during Days of Nature 2025, and again during Days of Mischief 2025.
Neutral Creatures[]
Neutral Creatures are creatures who are neither Light nor Dark and may be found wandering the lands. They don't have any practical function, but they still react to Sky Kids by their proximity, sound (honking), or a specific action.
Oreo[]

Oreo, also referred to as the Prairie Legend by the game's achievements, is a black-and-white dog that can only be summoned by seven players who possess the Butterfly Charmer's
Butterfly expression, in the area above the eight player puzzle in Daylight Prairie.
Mimi[]

Mimi is a black and white cat wearing an orange cape that can be found flying on a broomstick in the Secret Area, after reliving a certain Spirit Memory. Players can ride with her on her broom. Due to her color scheme, some players mistake Mimi for Oreo.
Sponges[]

In Sanctuary Islands, you can find purple Sea Sponges that replenish your oxygen meter at the bottom of the underwater ravine. Players will quickly regain full oxygen levels near these sea sponges. However, they will not recharge your Light, only your oxygen level.
Miscellaneous[]
Miscellaneous creatures have no possible interaction, and are only part of the scenery.
Robot[]

A large creature in the form of a Robot made of rocks can be found at the office in the Secret Area. No interaction is possible with this robot as it walks around the clouds surrounding the office.
Office Shiba Inu[]

A Shiba Inu statue can be found at the office in the Secret Area. Similar to Oreo, the statue is based on a real dog named Rusty Red.
Eggs[]

Two eggs can be found on a tree stump at Broken Bridge.
The Rock[]

A rock legend said to wander the Sky Kingdom, first mentioned in the Patch Notes. It cannot be interacted with, and no confirmed sightings have been reported. One rock a day, giving 5 light can now be collected in Aviary Village.
Sanctuary Starfish[]

The Sanctuary Starfish is located in the underwater trench in Sanctuary Islands. It has a white, four-pointed body with a smaller yellow star in the middle.
No Longer In Game[]
These creatures are simply showcased in a cutscene, removed from the game, or part of the lore of Sky.
Ghost[]

In the Secret Area, on the right of the main office door, a strange "glove-shaped ghost" appeared floating above a meditation shrine. No interaction was possible although it appeared to be blinking its eyes from time to time.
Rhythm Bird[]

This mysterious bird-like creature was only seen in the Season of Rhythm cutscenes, the Season of Flight promotional art and a daily quest. For the Season of Rhythm, it's the ride of the Spirits and Guide. For Season of Flight, there is an artwork of the Light Whisperer Spirit in front of it. During the daily quest, it was floating on the Second Floor of Vault of Knowledge.
